I prefer Peter Jennings over any other anchor. I think he works his butt off. Whenever there is something major going on, he is there. Yes, I know that the other anchors are there too but Mr. Jennings goes the extra mile.

I remember 9/11 and watching him and he was on there for HOURS & HORUS. Flipping back and forth every once in a great while from ABC to CBS and NBC, I noticed the other major anchors had reliefs. Peter Jennings did not and he stuck with it.

Dan Rather is my second choice. I usually watch Mr. Rather first because he is on first. (he is 5:30pmPST, Peter is 6pmPST) I still like Peter better though. I do not like Tom Brokaw because I can't stand his ugly mug or his voice.

Anyway...thanks. Smile

I usually watch Peter Jennings, but I'm not sure it's because he's my favorite or not. My favorite local news is shown on ABC, so I just watch the world news there too.

I voted wrong. I voted "I don't watch world news" Roll Eyes.

That is wrong, I do watch world and local news every day but I don't have a favorite anchor or channel. I do tend to watch BBC News, FOX News, and CNN more than any other networks though. (I can get the news 24/7 there)

I prefer Channel Five Fox News for my local 10 o'clock news though. (I could not name the anchor(s) off the top of my head though.

My favorite was Walter Cronkite. When he said "and that's the way it is" you knew that you had just heard the real news.

Of today's major network anchors, I prefer Tom Brokaw. Then again, I have peasant cable and no longer get HNN, CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc.

Cronkite was the best-
speaking of news up here there is talk of trying to bring to Canada
Fox news with Bill O'Reilley(wasn't he on a tabloid news channel Inside Edition?)

Some people don't like the idea as they feel that Fox news is anything but
" Fair and Balanced " and seems to be
Pro-Bush
and Bush is not a favourite to Canadians it seems-I think if we could have voted for Gore
we would have Big Grin-at least it would not have been a fixed election( as claimed by the film 9/11

I voted "I don't watch the news."

I read the news (in print and on the Internet)
and listen to it on the radio.
