your first celebrity sighting
|

Other then a concert or ballgame of some sort, I don't think I've ever actually seen a real celebrity. My Aunt, Uncle and cousins lived two houses down from George Brett during my whole childhood Just a mile from Royals stadium...and right by Worlds of Fun. He was the NICEST guy...and since I LOVE TO PLAY BALL, he was my hero. He always took the time to throw the ball around with me and my cousins.

Miss Blues, Brett was perhaps my favorite player of all-time, and I have written at length about him..A throwback kinda guy--like few others who've ever played the game..

I would LOVE to read what you have written. He's a great guy and most likely the very reason I became such a baseball nut. I went to soooooo many of the Royal games, I only wish I had been a little older so that I would have appreciated it more. My cousin was going through an old crate and found all our old 'outside' toys and baseball stuff. Bet there are plenty of mitts and gloves that he 'donated' to us when we were just neighborhood kids playin' ball. Sheesh, can't remember what age, but I started going to Worlds of Fun since I was tall enough to get in...and way before then probably. Spent a zillion hours there as a kid. Has a ride ever made you get sick in public?

I was barely 20 when, for reasons I still can't fathom, a friend set me up on a date with this utter and complete drip with whom I had absolutely nothing in common beyond (I think) a species... it was so bad that when I broke a tooth on my dinner (at KFC ) the first thing that went through my head (besides the blinding bolt of intense pain) was "Ah! Now I can go home without being rude!" Your first job interview?
