Needs a bit of thought

What songs do you think are Worthy both as a Great song and the Vocal Arrangment Mixing Also stands out
I can think of quite a few
but my #1 Has to Be "State of Independence" by Donna Summer Which Got to #8 in the UK charts in 1982 and It was composed and Mixed by Jon Anderson and Vangelis(Sounds uncannily like Andersons Voice) though they released Their version of the Tune and It only got to #67(for 2 weeks in 1984) Frown
Even on Mono Radio her voice is "carried" along
by the Underlying Tracks I'd love to hear the same on a decent surround sound Setup (a rare treat for my ears) Cool

PS The Song itself is a very long difficult one lyric and Keywise. If you can sing this Perfectly you'd win the X factor easily.

Here is the Tune(playable link) ..Does build up be patient Smile
Track is over 5 minutes long

A couple songs come to mind. The Beatle's "I am the Walrus". Though they claim to be just messing around with sounds and the lyrics are nonsense, there is a poetic beauty to it that few songs approach. Another would be "Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procul Harum. Lyrically and musically it stands the test of time well. The one that I like best in terms of vocal arrangement is "The Sweetest Thing" by Juice Newton. Somehow it never fails to make me emotional in its perfection.

Most songs Produced By Trevor Horn (the Voice of the Buggles) are very listenable for the arrangements such as this one by Dollar (he made a demo of the same) and its on the Net Worth a search (MP3)

NOTE That Pop show did a lot of Lip syncing until the final year/18 months it was on air (1 of the reasons for its demise) Mad
