I was thinking of purchasing a cd by one of the newer country artists. Problem is I don’t have a clue on what to buy . I am willing to take suggestions on to what, and why I should buy a particular cd.

I will give any suggestions some thought, and purchase a cd and offer a review after listening to it a few times.

Any suggestions?

If I were only buying one disc this winter, it would be Shooter Jennings' "Puttin' the 'O' Back in Country".... I've only heard two cuts so far but he's his father's son, all grown up and is carrying the torch nicely in the realm of "Outlaw Country"

(I haven't gotten it yet for myself in hopes of Santa dropping it in my stocking.)

Not a new country expert, but have you ever tried any Hank 3? Not really a new artist, but Hank Williams the 3rd is a pretty clever artist who's got some decent licks in.

I might suggest Big And Rich, Their album "Horse of a Different Color" ia pretty good. They have the hit song "Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy)". The song, "Kick my @@@" is pretty good as well.
