1. Most of us eat turkey at Christmas dinner, and usually too much of it. If each person eats 0.3 kilograms of turkey at a meal, and a turkey should be cooked for one and a half hours per kilogram, how long will it take to cook a turkey for 10 people?

2. Suppose you want to buy a candle for each member of your family. You want to get them each the same size, and they come in three sizes priced at $2, $3, and $5. You shop for Mom, Dad, Grandma, Jenna, Carly, and Christopher. In total you have $22. Which size should you buy?

3. You are trying to wrap a present for your little brother Timmy. The present, a small teddy bear, is in a box that is four inches long by eight inches tall by three inches deep.

Which piece of wrapping paper should you use - one that is 16 inches by 10 inches, or one that is 22 inches by seven inches?

1. 4.5 hours

.3 kg/person x 10 people x 1.5 hours

2. $3 (unless you're cheap, then $2!). You don't have enough money to buy the $5 candles for six people.

3. If my sketch is right, the 16" x 10" paper.
