Add to the list of those who have passed, Karl Maldin. An actor in many screen rolls, and on TV the "Streets of San Francisco". Rest in Peace, Mr. Maldin.

Is this the second of the second set of three? He always seemed to really fit the role on Streets. Acting has to be a lot easier when that is true. RIP.

Karl Malden was a great actor. I loved Streets of San Francisco.
He was also good as Gen. Omar Bradley in Patton. I remember him from so long ago, 'way before "Don't leave home without it." Goodbye to another great. My son corrected me on his classifications of "In the Mainstream" and "Not in the Mainstream" celebs. How about 1-Fred Travalena, 2-Gale Storm and 3-Karl Malden? (Not that they weren't memorable, just not active lately.) *.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.* "Any woman can have the body of a 21-year-old ... as long as she buys him a few drinks first." ~ Maxine |

Not sure those are valid classifications. The value of celebrities for me is what they contributed over their career, not whether they were in the limelight when they died. There are plenty of rappers who literally got snuffed at the height of their popularity, who won't be remembered 5 years from now. The memories of other celebrities will live on. |
