There's a video of a blind woman on a bus who without warning was punched in the face by another passenger.

I don't have sound on my puter and I couldn't find an article about it. Does the video mention why this guy did it?

There isn't really an explanation, piggins. The video focuses more on the people that stopped him. So who knows? There are some crazy people out there with lots of problems, and it's difficult to know what will make such people snap. It's heartening that so many other passengers intervened.
We had this happen in Canada last year:

Parts of the video said:

* It happened May of last year.
* The guy shouted, "The sick must die!" before assaulting the woman.
* One of the men who stepped forward to stop it said the guy was attacking/threatening everyone in his sight, saying, "The sick must die; God told me the sick must die."
*Six people were given awards by the police department. The woman who was attacked said, "It really restores my faith in humanity that these people did, in fact, join together and protect me, and I'd like to thank you all for what you did. God bless you."
*The aforementioned man who intervened said, "From what I understand, the guy has a 'mental past,' and to have someone out there who has that kind of ability and to slip through the cracks, is a sad thing."

The 'source' link on the CNN page directs you to this page, which has silent footage. Quote: "The suspect was arrested for the assault but due to his apparent diminished mental capacity, he was never charged. He was, instead, sent to Western State Hospital where he remains today."

He is then where he should be and where he should remain.
