This came up at another site and I though it might bear repeating here.
Due to the correlation between Reye's Syndrome and aspirin, children and teenagers should NEVER be given aspirin, except at the specific instruction of a physician who has actually examined the child.
That's quoted directly from the Mayo Clinic webpage, and I urge parents (Aunts, Uncles, Godparents, teachers....) to visit the site for further information. Also, the Mayo Clinic Website allows the non-commercial use of its material,so spread the word. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When the going gets wierd, the wierd turn pro. Hunter S. We gave our kids acetaminophen or ibuprofen. But when I was growing up I always got St. Joseph's Aspirin for children. Don't remember any news about Reyes back then. Maybe they didn't know about it.
